To play 30 games for Manchester United would be a dream come true for defender Jonny Evans. Reds boss Sir Alex Ferguson has assured the young defender he is a major part of his plans for the future.

"It would be nice to get 30 games, in fact it sounds tremendous," said the 20-year-old.

"Even if I get up to 20 games it would be good.

"I benefit from extra confidence and experience just by being on the bus so I am really enjoying it at present."

The Northern Ireland international has plenty of time on his side but is not convinced.

"It does get frustrating," he said.

"There are so many top class players here who don't get a game every week.

"John O'Shea is one. He is a great player who could probably play in any position but he has to bide his time.

"I watch how well he takes it. He is a model professional and trains as hard as anyone."
