Man Utd's Chester: Peterborough boss Ferguson just like Sir Alex

Peterborough United's on-loan Manchester United defender James Chester says manager Darren Ferguson is just like Dad, Sir Alex.

He said: "Darren and his father are very similar. They look the same and the way they deliver their team talks is the same."

Chester arrived at London Road after Darren turned to his dad to help him solve promotion-chasing Posh's injury crisis.

The move followed his appearance as a sub in United's 4-2 Carling Cup semi-final, second leg win over Derby at Old Trafford on January 20.

He added: "It came about really quickly. Sir Alex told me he wanted me to go on loan to Peterborough and Darren Ferguson rang me.

"I have been wanting to go out on loan for a while and this is a good move for me. I want first-team experience."

He made his Posh debut in the 4-2 win at Brighton on February 10 and has no fears United will forget him.

Chester, preparing for today's trip to Hereford, said: "Sir Alex watches all the kids at United and knows them by their first name. He goes out of his way to make sure he knows everything that goes on."

Ferguson Jnr said: "It is good experience for James to get some league games. We are delighted to have him on board."
