Man Utd's Carrick happy playing for Hodgson

Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick is enjoying playing for England coach Roy Hodgson.

Carrick has been impressed with head coach Roy Hodgson after the midfielder decided not to make himself available for Euro 2012.

He said: "I have really enjoyed it. I think the new manager has had a positive impact on the squad.

"We are playing some good football. Everyone is enjoying it and I think you can see that from the performances.

"The competition for places is nothing new. There has been competition all the time. When I play, I play and enjoy it and do my best and see what happens for the next game."
