Man Utd's Carrick coy over Liverpool Euro success

Carrick refuses to bite when asked whether Manchester United are jealous of Liverpool's European success. But his response is telling.

"Seeing Liverpool in the final didn't bother me," he says. "It was more we felt we should have been there."

Sir Alex Ferguson is desperate to add a second European title to his legacy and his determination has transferred to his players.

"It was great to win the Premier League," Carrick told Metro. "It's okay to win the league one year and you want to keep that going over two, three, four years. Then you can say you are a good team.

"But you also want to win in Europe so you are seen as great. That's what we're aiming for this season."
