He admitted: "It frustrates me a little bit. Hopefully if I'm playing well enough I'll get a chance, but I have enough things at the minute to keep me upbeat.
"We have had so much on here - going for the league and obviously now the Champions League - that England is not something I have thought too much about.
"Maybe that will come further down the line.
"But there is probably no better place than a Champions League final to showcase what I can do for England.
"If you can do it there, you can do it anywhere. It is up to us to bring our best games with us."
