The Brazilian youngster has won praise from United boss Sir Alex Ferguson and teammate Cristiano Ronaldo in recent weeks and he said: "It is great to hear such praise, especially coming from a dedicated athlete.

"Despite my young age (19 years), the adjustment at Manchester United and the city itself was easy because of the great support I have had here.

"The crowd is a true part of the club, we receive encouragement and praise all the time. I feel at home in England."
