Following an injury to keeper Dale Connor, Oldham have moved quickly to sign Manchester United academy stopper Sam Johnstone on loan. The England youth international Johnstone has been drafted in as temporary cover and will make his first appearance for the League One club against Burnley on Tuesday night before also appearing in Oldham's final warm-up game at Fleetwood on Saturday.
"Sam is very highly rated by United and we are delighted he is here to help us out," boss Paul Dickov told the club's official website.
