Manchester United youth chief Paul McGuinness was pleased Paul Scholes ended his retirement earlier this season.
Scholes had been assisting McGuinness with the young players.
"It was a shock when he came out of retirement but I wasn't disappointed. The most important thing is the first team and winning the league. The first team always has to come first. That's what we are here for - to develop young players for the seniors and to help the club win trophies," he told the Manchester Evening News.
