Marcus Rashford has the mental capacity to deal with the pressures of being a professional footballer.
That is the opinion of England U21 head coach Gareth Southgate who is set to play the Manchester United forward up front against Norway in their Euro2017 qualifier at Colchester on Tuesday night.
Southgate feels the career of Rashford, 18, is in good stead as he has a similar mentality to some England greats including his current club captain.
"I played with Wayne Rooney on his debut, with David Beckham on his debut and with Paul Scholes and Steven Gerrard," said Southgate.
"They're not fazed by anything that is thrown at them.
"That would seem to be what has happened so far with Marcus and I'm sure that could influence his path.
"If you were to ask me what makes the difference for the very best that I was involved with and who I have seen going from our team into the seniors, then the mental bit is the key."
