Manchester United new boy Anthony Martial has played down comparisons with French legend Thierry Henry.

Martial has hit the ground running at Old Trafford having scored four goals in his seven appearances for the Red Devils and many see shades of former Arsenal great Henry in the young man.

Speaking with French TV station Channel BFM, Martial distanced himself from the comparisons by saying: "I know this is a very great player who is a legend in England, I don't think we have the same characteristics. Thierry Henry is Thierry Henry.

"I still have everything to prove. By continuing to work, I will try to reach his level but I am still very far off."

Henry scored 228 goals for the Gunners and is their all-time record goalscorer.
