Man Utd won't offer Ferdinand new deal anytime soon

Manchester United are in no rush to hand Rio Ferdinand a new contract.

The Mirror says Ferdinand, who controversially missed out on the England squad for Euro 2012, has 12 months left on his current deal.

But United are happy for the defender to enter the final season of his contract without a new agreement.

They are keen to assess Ferdinand's form and fitness next season before deciding whether to offer the 33-year-old defender a new deal.
