Manchester United won't go higher than £30 million for Tottenham star Luka Modric. The Daily Star says Modric, 26, penned a new long-term deal at White Hart Lane before the start of last season and is valued in the £40m bracket.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will not be prepared to sell his star on the cheap and will dig his heels in should Fergie come calling.
United will not offer more than £30m, though, and Fergie will be hoping the midfielder can force Spurs' hand by telling them he wants to go to Old Trafford.
