Manchester United won't consider selling Wayne Rooney to Chelsea.
The Mail on Sunday says Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, a long-term admirer of Rooney, has already tried to use the Mata deal as a possible bargaining chip to land the England striker by saying it would be 'unfair' to stop a player from signing for the club he wanted.
However, United, who are currently in talks with Rooney over a new £75m contract that would make him the highest-paid player in Premier League history, are adamant that even if negotiations break down they would not contemplate letting Rooney go to Stamford Bridge.
