Manchester United defeated St Etienne 1-0 in the Europa League this evening to make it five wins on end in all competitions.

The Round of 32 second leg triumph in France also extended the Red Devils' unbeaten streak to seven matches, while they have tasted just one defeat - in the EFL Cup semi-final second leg to Hull City - since early November.

Mourinho told BT Sport: "We are not unbeaten but the record is really good.

"It's nice to have only one little defeat in four months, and a defeat where we could [afford] that defeat because it was over two legs. So it's nice, a good feeling.

"We trust each other. One day we are going to lose. The important thing is, after that defeat, we go back again to a good run because the team is playing solidly."
