Man Utd winger Valencia: I am not Ronaldo

Manchester United winger Antonio Valencia insists he's not the 'new Cristiano Ronaldo'.

Not only is Valencia showing the form that persuaded Alex Ferguson to pay Wigan £16million last summer but also beginning to surpass expectations.

Wembley's scuffed pitch held no horrors for him.

And he has kept his feet on the ground this week in readiness to wreck Wolves at Molineux today.

He was bought to replace £80m Ronaldo so the comparisons will never be far away.

But Valencia, 24, said: "Cristiano is a superstar and I'm Valencia, a footballer learning each day.

"I don't desire comparisons with him as we are different players.

"And while I'm happy with my work in the team, I know every day I must fight for my place.

"It's not easy to get into the starting XI here - but this is my challenge."
