Nani has told Manchester United fans he is determined to become the best player in the world.
Last season was Nani's best in a United shirt.
And he told the Mail on Sunday: "I want to become one of the best players in the world and I'll work hard to achieve it.
"I improved last season. I showed more maturity, more personality and my mentality became stronger.
"I have a better understanding of a lot of things, how the game is played in England, the way opponents play and the ambitions we have at United. It means my quality is better on the pitch."
Nani added: "Last season was very important for my confidence. I wanted to show everyone at the club - the manager, my teammates and the fans - what I could do and I was proud of my displays during the second half of the season.
"Hopefully I can improve again this season. I am ambitious to score more goals and help the team win more trophies.
"I haven't set a particular goal target but I want to score more than last season's seven goals."
