Manchester United winger Nani knows there's great expectations from Portugal fans for him ahead of the World Cup.

Nani admits he is playing his best football after an outstanding campaign with United.

"I think there is every expectation of that because I was able to gain space in Manchester, which was difficult. I competed in many games this year and helped the team in tough times. It made me build more confidence in myself and in my abilities.

"I believe I will be important for our national team," said Nani.

"Many of the fans and my fellow teammates have hopes for me. So I want to do my best in the World Cup."
