Henrikh Mkhitaryan touched on just how vital Manchester United's win over Sunderland on Sunday was.

The Red Devils bounced back from a pair of draws in the Premier League to beat the Black Cats 3-0 at the Stadium of Light thanks to goals from Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Mkhitaryan himself and Marcus Rashford.

"It was a very important game," he told MUTV.

"An important win after two draws. We've done everything to win today, we knew that it was not going to be easy.

"But we played very well to win 3-0.

"I'm very happy, I wanted to score and I want to score always. It was very important to score the second one because the game was not over and then they had a little bit of control in the second half.

"But thanks to my teammates they could help me score the second one and then at the end we scored a third one and the game was already over."
