Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal will wait until midseason to swoop for AS Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman.
The Mail on Sunday says Strootman, who was key in Van Gaal's Holland teams, will be added, although probably not until January, as his cruciate knee ligament injury means he will not be able to prove his fitness before then.
Strootman only moved to Roma last summer from PSV Eindhoven.
