Man Utd willing to go to £400,000-a-week to keep David de Gea

Manchester United are willing to go to £400,000-a-week to keep David de Gea.

His current deal expires at the end of next season and, without fresh terms, Paris Saint-Germain were preparing a summer bid to pile the pressure on United to sell — or risk losing the Spain star for nothing.

Since Jose Mourinho left in December, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has breathed life into the club and there is fresh optimism around their Carrington HQ.

The Sun says United are ready to make De Gea, 28, the world's best-paid keeper with a new contract worth up to £400,000 a week, including bonuses. But he wanted clear signs the club will compete for trophies — and has been impressed with Solskjaer's six wins as interim boss.
