Man Utd willing to throw £30M at Roma for Strootman

Manchester United are ready to make a shock raid on AS Roma for Kevin Strootman.

The Dutchman only moved to Roma in the summer from PSV Eindhoven.

The People says despite Strootman making a major impact at Roma since his arrival, United are plotting an audacious £30m swoop.

United coach Phil Neville made a personal check on Strootman in Holland's recent international friendly with Colombia.

And United have been given more encouragement that they can land the midfield star with Strootman's former manager at PSV, Dick Advocaat, believing a move to Old Trafford is inevitable.

"Strootman is a pure professional but I do not think he will stay at Roma that long," said Advocaat. "And then it will be a team of the calibre of United who will get him."

United's urgency to spend big and re-build the central midfield was rubber-stamped several weeks ago by the Glazer family.
