Manchester United intend to try again for Tottenham winger Gareth Bale.
The Sunday Mirror says manager Sir Alex Ferguson had been given the green light by United's controversial owners, the Glazer family, to spend £22 million on Bale.
Bale had finished last season in fine style. The kind of form he has taken on and topped this season culminating in last week's spectacular hat-trick against Inter Milan in the San Siro.
Every top club in Europe now know of Bale's breathtaking promise. And last summer when Fergie made his move United were met with a firm hands-off from Spurs.
But United continue to monitor's Bale's development. They are among a posse of eight top European clubs who a trailing Bale and building up their scouting dossiers.
