Manchester United are demanding big money to sell Henrikh Mkhitaryan in January.
The Sun says United boss Jose Mourinho wants Joao Mario from Inter Milan when Mkhitaryan goes to the Italian giants.
Mkhitaryan, 28, is set for the axe at Manchester United after losing his first-team place, with Inter ready to swoop.
But the Italians have a player Mourinho has targeted as a long-term replacement for Michael Carrick in central midfield.
Joao, 24, will cost United at least the £40 million that Inter paid Sporting Lisbon just after he won Euro 2016 with Portugal.
Mkhitaryan has fallen out of favour at Manchester United and ready for an Old Trafford exit.
