Former Manchester United defender Henning Berg believes the club will sorely miss the influence of Nemanja Vidic.
The Serbian centre-back is set to depart Old Trafford this summer to join Italian outfit Inter Milan on a free transfer after the Nerazzurri confirmed on Wednesday morning that they had agreed a deal.
Vidic will leave United after eight-and-a-half-years having won five Premier League titles, a Champions League trophy, a FIFA Club World Cup and three Football League cups and Berg suggests he will be a great loss.
"He's still vital to the club so I don't think it's a football decision," Berg told Sky Sports News Radio.
"He's been there for a long time now, so I think it's simply down to the player wanting to do something different.
"He's a fantastic leader and a top player - one of the best central defenders that they've had - and I'm sure he'd like to go out on a high note."
