Man Utd will meet Tevez price - but still could lose him

Manchester United are ready to meet the £32 million asking price for Carlos Tevez - but still could lose him.

The Daily Star says United's chief executive David Gill will meet with the Argentine's advisor, Kia Joorabchian, this morning in an effort to reach an agreement after months of stalemate.

The Premier League champions are now prepared to pay the asking price needed to keep Tevez at the club, having been forced to raise their bid because of the intense interest from their big rivals around Europe.

But with Chelsea, Real Madrid, Milan, Manchester City and Liverpool all in the race, the striker is in no hurry to commit himself to a four-year-deal at United.

The desperation to play regular first-team football is likely to be the main factor which convinces Tevez where his future lies - and he fears Sir Alex Ferguson will not view him as a first choice player next season.
