Manchester United are ready to splash out £12 million to land Borussia Dortmund attacker Shinji Kagawa. The Daily Star says Kagawa has revealed that he jetted into Manchester earlier this week to meet Sir Alex Ferguson and other senior United representatives.
The 23-year-old, who scored 17 goals this season to help Dortmund defend their Bundesliga title, is also a target of AC Milan, Chelsea and Juventus.
But Fergie has stolen a march on his rivals by opening talks and is confident of getting his man.
Fergie has turned to Kagawa because he fears losing out to Manchester City in the race to sign Lille star Eden Hazard.
