Mats Daehli celebrated turning pro with Manchester United this week by making his reserve-team debut.
The Norwegian midfielder was a second-half substitute in their 1-0 defeat to Bolton Wanderers.
Academy teammate James Wilson also made his debut at that level.
Wilson, barely 16, has been playing a year above his age group for England since he was 14 years of age.
"I like Rooney because he plays in the same position as me. He has had his ups and downs like everyone, but I think he can be my role model," said Wilson earlier this season.
