Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is considering a bid for Benfica defender Ezequiel Garay. The Daily Star says having struggled during his time at Real Madrid, the 26-year-old has rediscovered his best form at the Primeira Liga leaders.
But Garay could prove to be an expensive purchase, with Benfica likely to inflate their price for the defender.
The Lisbon club are obliged to hand over half of any transfer fee to Real Madrid.
