Man Utd watch as Barcelona, Real Madrid go for David Silva
Barcelona and Real Madrid are going head-to-head for Valencia star David Silva.
Sport says Valencia's cash-strapped board are ready to sell the Spain star after the World Cup and hope to kickoff a summer auction for his services.
Barca coach Pep Guardiola admits he's a huge fan of Silva, who could arrive as a replacement for Thierry Henry. Barca will face competition from Real, which will bank on delays over their presidential election to steal a march on their eternal rivals.
Also circling in the background is Manchester United, where manager Sir Alex Ferguson has identified Silva as a long-term replacement for Ryan Giggs.

All this Villa and Silva talk to Man Utd is nonsense ? Sir Alex Ferguson would definetly be intrested in signing the likes of Villa, Silva, Di Maria, Aguero and Karim Benzema ! But ONLY if he had that kind off money ? Thanks to the ***** glazer (wankers) these day's Fergie is restricted on buying sell by date players such as Michael Owen and soon Joe Cole who i belive would be joining United if Chelsea fail to offer him a suitable deal! To be honest apart from Antonia Valencia all the other signings post Ronaldo have been SHIT !!!
they've been linked with silva for 2 years and villa for even more... when are the newspapers gonna drop this story and admit that they have no idea whats going. guessing and hoping it happens for the sake of credibility isn't going to make it any more likely.
