Manchester United chiefs want to keep hold of a connection with departing midfielder Darren Fletcher.

The Scot has been grated a free transfer this week and is in talks about a contract pay off.

The Manchester Evening News says Fletcher could return to United in a coaching capacity at the end of his playing career.

No matter where he goes, United are keen for the former academy graduate to return to the club.
