Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes says his career has been extended by retiring from international football.
That is why the 35-year-old will be refreshed and ready to face Everton if needed on Saturday at Old Trafford.
Scholes said: "I look forward to international breaks these days. I look at the fixture list and see how long until we get to the next one.
"It will be a while before we have another, so it is nice to have a little break. We still train quite hard, though.
"We have three or four days in and have a couple off to get ready for the game two weeks afterwards."
