Manchester United veteran Ryan Giggs is confident coaching duties won't affect his playing preparation.
The Welshman was so determined to maintain his incredible standards that he was initially reticent to accept David Moyes ' offer to become part of his backroom staff.
Giggs was named as a player-coach this summer, but revealed to the Manchester Evening News: "I got the call when I was in Turkey doing my coaching badges.
"My initial thought was 'How will it affect the playing side of things?' as I was obviously preparing to play for another year.
"I spoke to a few people and had a think about it, and I could only see plus points, no minuses.
"The manager was great and told me he sees me as a player first and foremost, but said he wanted me on the staff as well.
"It's an exciting chance for me and one that I couldn't turn down."
