Manchester United veteran Rio Ferdinand insists he won't live on his past glories.

Ferdinand starts preseason under a new manager at United.

"I won't do that," he said.

"I will enjoy the day but it is not something that will make me sit around and start thinking about what I have achieved.

"I am always thinking about my next game and the next trophy.

"The time to dwell on things and bask in all the stuff I have done will be when I am sitting in my rocking chair.

"Whilst I am still playing it is not in my nature to do it at all, regardless of it being my testimonial year."
