Rio Ferdinand is expected to start for Manchester United tomorrow night against Champions League opponents Otelul Galati.

Nemanja Vidic, who returned in place of Ferdinand at Everton on Saturday, is banned while Chris Smalling is out for a month with a fractured bone in his foot.

Ferdinand, who was dropped to the bench at Goodison Park after the Manchester derby debacle, is likely to partner Jonny Evans with Phil Jones filling in at right-back.
