Wayne Rooney saved Manchester United's embarrassment of a loss to Danish club Aalborg in the Uefa Champions League by scoring to force a 2-2 draw.
In a see-sawing affair, the in-form Carlos Tevez got the Red Devils off to a brilliant start in front of the Old Trafford faithful with an early volley that sizzled past the Aalborg keeper.
The lead lasted about half an hour when Aalborg's Michael Jakobsen expertly headed home for an equaliser before Jeppe Curth stunned the home fans with another superb header on the stroke of half-time.
It took only seven minutes for United to restore sanity when Wayne Rooney drove a low shot into the net, saving face for the reigning European champions.
