Man Utd trust in youth for Galatasaray clash

Having already qualified for the last 16 of the competition, Manchester United have left out the big guns for Tuesday's UEFA Champions League Group H game away to Galatasaray. Skipper Patrice Evra, Rio Ferdinand, Wayne Rooney, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Robin van Persie have been left behind.

Of the more experienced members of the United squad, Michael Carrick and Darren Fletcher are included, as are strike duo Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez.

It means Sir Alex Ferguson travels with youth, including Nick Powell, the summer signing from Crewe.

Josh King, Davide Petrucci, Tom Thorpe and Ryan Tunnicliffe are among those hopeful of having some involvement in the Champions League for the first time.

Squad: Johnstone, Lindegaard; Rafael, Buttner, Jones, Thorpe, Vermijl, Wootton; Carrick, Petrucci, Cole, Cleverley, Fletcher, Anderson, Powell, Young, Tunnicliffe; Hernandez, King, Welbeck, Macheda.
