Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is keeping tabs on Sunderland captain Lee Cattermole.
The Daily Express says Ferguson is an admirer of Cattermole's tough-tackling style and will monitor the midfielder through to the January transfer window.
Cattermole was linked with a £12million move to United yesterday, however, Ferguson will now wait to see how his midfield options shake up before deciding whether to bid for the player in the New Year.
