Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has turned his attentions to Real Madrid defender Pepe in his latest bid to strengthen his defence.
The Mirror has claimed that the Red Devils boss wants to move for Pepe after missing out on his Real teammate Sergio Ramos.
United had a bid of £30million rejected for Los Blancos captain Ramos and have now subsequently been linked with Portugal international Pepe.
Pepe is the latest Real player to be linked with a move to Old Trafford this season after van Gaal also recently expressed interest in Gareth Bale.
