Manchester United are preparing a raid for Internacional de Porto Alegre starlet Walter.

United scout Jaap Stam watched Walter in action last year and scouts from the Premiership giants came away with glowing reports of his performance in last month's U20 South American Championships.

Inter are prepared to sell Walter when the summer market opens and United will test their resolve soon with an opening offer of £5 million.
