Man Utd targeting Europa/Premier League double says Young

Manchester United winger Ashley Young has made it clear that the club are targeting the Europa League and Premier League titles this season.

The former Aston Villa man scored as the Red Devils defeated Ajax 2-0 in Amsterdam in the Europa League Round of 32 first leg on Thursday night and he insists that Europe's second tier club competition, as well as the domestic league, are the two pieces of silverware Sir Alex Ferguson and his men are after.

"Winning the title race and winning this competition is what we would consider a successful season," he told the Manchester Evening News.

"That's what we're involved in and that's what we want to do.

"Every game is going to be a tough game from here. As long as we go out there, concentrate on ourselves and produce the sort of performances that have been coming in the last few weeks - if we take all the positives out of those games then hopefully at the end of the season it will be good enough to win the title."
