Sergio Ramos is set to disappoint by Manchester United by signing a new deal with Real Madrid.
The Spanish defender has been the subject of strong interest from the Red Devils in recent weeks but will opt against a move to the Premier League by committing his long-term future to Los Blancos.
Spanish daily Marca has reported that Ramos, 29, is set to sign a brand new contract which will keep him at the Santiago Bernabeu until the summer of 2020.
"The agreement between the club and the player is already reached and will be made official before the start of La Liga season [Aug. 23]," the report said.
The news is likely to see United drop their pursuit of a new centre-back after reports in the Manchester Evening News suggested that Louis van Gaal was not interested in any other central defender apart from Ramos.
