Nicolas Otamendi is keen to remain with Valencia according to the club's general manager Francisco Rufete.

The 27-year old centre-back has been heavily linked with a potential summer move to Manchester United but Rufete insists the Argentina international fancies remaining at the Mestalla.

"Nobody has said that Otamendi wants to go, and this is not what he said either," he told Superdeporte.

"We have to make good decisions but the important thing is the player, and there is no situation where Nico said something different from 'I want to be here'."
