James Rodriguez accepted this weekend that his career with Real Madrid was over.
Colombian sources say James had agreed a pre-contract with Manchester United some weeks ago.
However, upon getting the hook from Real coach Zinedine Zidane during victory over Sevilla, James knew he was making his last appearance at the Bernabeu.
Tomás Roncero, speaking on El Chiringuito, revealed James muttered to himself "my dream is over" before making his way to the touchline.
Roncero continued: "Playing at Real Madrid was his dream. He leaves because he does not have another, because he does not play, it is not a matter of money.
"The Madridismo that applauded him is the same that wants to see (Marco) Asensio and Isco play."
