Gareth Bale is stalling on signing a new deal with Real Madrid.
The Mirror says Bale is in no rush to pen a new contract at the Santiago Bernabeu, with the Welshman prepared to wait for the best possible deal.
The 27-year-old has adapted to life in Spain but will hold off signing just yet, given his key bargaining chip with Madrid prepared to suffer the blow of an imminent transfer ban and therefore lose their ability to sign new players until 2018.
The new terms, still a long way from being finalised, are provisionally set at more than €250,000-per-week after tax, which would place him second in the European champions' pay rankings, with a release clause pencilled in at €500m.
Manchester United are among rivals monitoring the situation closely.
