Manchester United boss David Moyes is ready to up his bid for Everton fullback Leighton Baines.

The Sunday Express says United have had a £12million offer for the England international turned down but - aware of Moyes' intentions - his Goodison Park successor Roberto Martinez has stepped up the search for a replacement.

There is also United interest in Belgian international Marouane Fellaini but so far that has not been followed up with an official offer.

Moyes is aware that Everton are prepared to sell Baines if the money is right and his signature is becoming a top priority for the new Manchester United boss.
