Manchester United have launched a €100m bid for Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

United see the Serbia international as a replacement for Paul Pogba, who is wanted this month by Barcelona.

Il Messaggero says United have tabled a €100m offer to Lazio president Claudio Lotito for his star midfielder. But Lotito is in no rush to accept.

With Real Madrid also keen, Lotito is aiming to drive up Milinkovic-Savic's asking price and expects a counter bid from the Spanish giants today.

United are prepared to sign Milinkovic-Savic immediately and count on Barca paying €112m cash for Pogba before the European transfer deadline falls at the end of the month.
