Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck admits he was inspired to enter football by Michael Owen's 1998 World Cup goal.
Owen went on to become the fifth-highest goalscorer in England history, netting 40 times in 89 games.
Now Welbeck wants to set down a marker like his former Manchester United team-mate and become the nation's goalscoring king.
Welbeck said: "Michael's goal against Argentina, from when I was seven years old, is my best England memory.
"I was sitting in the living room with my whole family and saw him take that touch with the outside of his foot and just go! Just go!
"He shifted the ball past a couple of defenders, stuck it in the top corner and... wow!
"Michael and Wayne Rooney have been my inspiration and, obviously, I've had a chance to grow up with them and train with them. I've watched them to see how they work their stuff and taken some tips into my own game."
