Man Utd striker Welbeck heaps praise on Arsenal starlet Wilshere
Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck has heaped praise on England U21 teammate Jack Wilshere.
Arsenal midfielder Wilshere inspired England to victory over Lithuania, with on-loan Sunderland striker Welbeck netting twice.
Welbeck said: “Jack’s a quality player and you’ve seen him do it at all levels. You know when he is on the pitch he can always feed it through to you from anywhere.
“He wasn’t even looking at me when he passed it through for my first goal, but he just knew I was there so that shows his quality. He seemed to have an effect on all the players.
“The players who were on beforehand in the first half worked hard, ground Lithuania down and by the end they were getting a bit tired. That’s when we took over.”
