Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck is taking no satisfaction from his excellent personal form with the team struggling for results.

Although the England man has been in fine form, emerging as a contender for the Player of the Month award in December, he accepts his goals mean less if the side is not winning.

"Obviously, I really want to play down the middle," he told ManUtd.com. "And just to get the opportunity to play there means it has been good for me. I'm happy to get on the pitch.

"But the most important thing is I want my team to be doing the best they can. I have been scoring a few goals but I would change all that if we were first in the Premier League."
