Man Utd striker Welbeck cannot rule out Sunderland move

Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck is seriously considering a move to Sunderland.

The Daily Express says Welbeck has enjoyed a terrific season at the Stadium of Light and manager Steve Bruce is keen to follow up his loan with a £12 million permanent deal.

Bruce can offer him regular first-team football, something Sir Alex Ferguson, who also rates him highly, cannot do, but Welbeck says he will wait until the end of the season before deciding where his future lies.

Welbeck, 20, who scored a superb goal in England Under-21s' 4-0 win over Denmark on Thursday, said: "I've not really thought too much about what I'm going to do, but I've really enjoyed my time at Sunderland.

"It has benefited me massively, just to be around with the big boys week in, week out. I'm delighted with that, but the end of the season will be the time to sit down and think about the future.

"I'm like anyone else, I want to play every week. Football is my job. I like training hard and then playing in games, but we will just see what happens in the summer."
